Tire Talk: Why Scarlette Runs on ET Street Radial Pros

Let’s talk tires—because when you’re launching a 4,400 lb Hellcat with big power and no fear, what’s under the rear fenders matters.

Over the last year and a half, I’ve been on a mission to figure out the best drag radial for Scarlette. I’ve tried a couple different setups, and after a whole lot of passes (and a few too many tire changes), I’ve landed on my go-to: Mickey Thompson ET Street Radial Pros.

Here’s the breakdown of what I’ve learned—and why I won’t be switching anytime soon.

When I first got serious about hooking Scarlette on prepped surfaces, I started with a set of Mickey Thompson ET Street Rs on a 17” wheel. They were solid, don’t get me wrong—great grip off the hit on a good surface, and they did their job at the track.

But the downside? I was chewing through these things fast. I’d be lucky to get through 4 or 5 events before they were toast. If you’re chasing consistency and trying to keep a budget (or at least pretend to), that gets old real quick.

Eventually, I made the move to a 15” rear conversion—and that opened up a whole new world of sidewall and performance. With more flex and better contact, Scarlette immediately felt stronger off the line.

I swapped over to the ET Street Radial Pro, and let me tell you—game changer.

These things hook. Even on marginal surfaces where I’d normally have to pedal it, Scarlette just digs and goes. More importantly, I’m not eating through rubber like before. I’ve made it through 10+ events on this current set, and they’re still holding up strong.

For Scarlette and the way I race, ET Street Radial Pros are the clear winner. Better grip, better lifespan, and way more confidence launching hard—especially in less-than-perfect conditions.

The 15” conversion was worth every penny, and these tires make it all work together. If you’re running big power and trying to stay consistent at the line, save yourself the trial and error—this is the setup I’d recommend every time.

Now back to burning rubber—just not as often. 🔥
